Production, design, and evaluation of Bacillus thuringiensis serov. israelensis formulations against Aedes aegypti larvae

چکیده
Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti) was cultured on three culture media: a reference medium and two new media. Then, spore-crystal complexes were recovered evaluated against Aedes aegypti larvae. After formulations, tablets granulates, prepared, then irradiated with ultraviolet light for larval mortality residual activities. The most toxic extract obtained in soluble 1 showing the lowest LC50 of 0.3748 mg/L. When Bti formulated tested laboratory, granulated presented approximately 90%–100% mortality, during first 3 days post-application, whereas showed 40%, unformulated 22% mortality. formulations reduced 5%–12% (tablets) granular (6%-11%) after 72 hours exposure to UV light; otherwise, reductions higher (32%).

A semi-field bioassay method using commonly available laundry tubs evaluated efficacy and residual activity of 6 granular corncob formulations of Bacillus thuringiensis serovar israelensis against laboratory-reared late 3rd- and early 4th-instar larvae of Aedes taeniorhynchus introduced to the tubs. These formulations produced appreciable larval mortalities (up to 75%) for 9 days posttreatment,...

The susceptibility status of field-collected Aedes aegypti (L.) from a dengue endemic area to Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti) and temephos was determined. Since August 2007, biweekly ovitrap surveillance (OS) was conducted for 12 mo in 2 sites, A & B, in Shah Alam, Selangor. Site A was treated with a Bti formulation, VectoBac® WG at 500 g/ha, from December 2007 - June 2008 while Site B...

An experimental Sandoz formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (SAN 402 SC 98) was several times more effective than Abbott ABG 6188 against larvae of Aedes aegypti and Ae. vexans in the laboratory. Field applications of SAN 402 SC 98 at 0.25 liter/ha and ABG 6188 at 1.00 liter/ha resulted in more than 97% control of Ae. vexans larvae after 48 hours, with residual activity of 24 ...
